IT SEEMS the Aquino administration’s Executive Order 23 or indefinite log ban has recently been placed in the sidelines with the recent issuance of a tree cutting and earth-balling permit to a mall chain.
This after Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Secretary Ramon Paje granted permission to SM Baguio to cut 172 trees in the mall’s property facing Governor Pack Road, paving the way for the mall’s expansion which will include a centralized parking and bus terminal in the area.
They paved paradise, to put up a parking lot… AGAIN.

Flutter Field (2011) by Tzaddi Esguerra
Director’s Note: If by the end of this film you’ve gathered up that the child committed suicide, you are wrong. Loljk, it’s an experimental film, you can come up with whatever ending you like. But just so you could appreciate the lines that we so carefully put together, review the film and think of the narration in the balloon’s point of view.
“We can always choose to leave the chaos of the world”. That was the ending of this short film for me. Not suicide but choosing to see the light, the good. The movie made me feel good after a tiring day. It was visually nice and the narration wasn’t bad too. The movie was about positivity amidst negativity , to breathe even though its suffocating, to open our eyes even though its blurry, to appreciate even though its just a speck of goodness..Ahhhh life…its what you make of it…So Smile, dream, love and contribute to the betterment of society(esp. Philippines.. :))..

The plant billboard, the first in the country, was made possible through the partnership of beverage giant Coca-Cola Philippines and environmental group World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF).
The 60x60-foot billboard located along EDSA-Forbes area, will use thriving species of Fukien tea plant , which is known to absorb air pollutants.
The plants are spread across the billboard with a space in the center in the shape of a Coca-Cola bottle.
